Fabric Formwork
An exploration within the realm of form work using plaster and fabric to create various impressions, curves, and geometry that are generated by gravity and force. Utilizing point and line forces, and creating various molds with wood, string/rope and cloth fabric, helped explore the ideas of play-scapes and visualizing the molds in multiple scales of object, figure and site.
After a rigorous amount of casting and molding, utilizing 3D scanners, it was possible to create rhino mesh files to manipulate and develop drawings to understand levels of scale. Below are a series of studies developed by these 3D scans alongside a few examples of molds and models constructed beforehand.
