Barcelona Cultural Center

Over the course of two months, a study abroad initiative to understand and learn about various architectural projects found within Porto and Lisbon in Portugal and then in Merida, Cordoba and Barcelona in Spain. The end result of the travelling/studying led to building a small Cultural Center within Barcelona that utilized a new discovered area of ruins. Not only did we have to integrate public within the ruins safely, but we had to understand the dynamic of Spanish architecture, historic preservation, and basic archaeology on ruin excavating and preservation.

Program consisted of a learning/educational space for students of archaeology,

A gallery space to display work and findings of these students.

A Gift Shop for the museum component.

An Underground museum

A new plaza for the surrounding buildings.

The greatest challenge was to be able to develop the project on the go, travelling between cities and then finally presenting at the University de Catalunya.
